Five Senses Friday

Been a pretty good week, BUT it's definitely a TGIF kind of friday. I am so exhausted! Can't wait to catch up on my sleep! :)

I am...

Smelling:

Grass. Now that Jordan has no school, and all this free time, he's been doing lawn care to earn some extra money. Might sound gross, but I love when Jordan comes home all grassy-smelling. Someone should make a grassy/mossy scent for candles or a cologne. mmmm. :)

Tasting:

Little Caesars Pizza. the $5.00 Hot and Ready pizzas are probably the best thing invented as far as fast food goes.. haha

Seeing:

Wicked!!! We just bought tickets to see it in August. They are coming to Salt Lake so I definitely can't pass up this opportunity!! :D SO excited. I've seen it before, but it was a while ago. 2007 I think??

Hearing:

"American Lullaby". Its a song I'm learning from vocal lessons, and its been stuck in my head! Its really beautiful. Someday I'll sing it to my children. :)  I don't have a video of the song. Its not all that popular. I might just record myself singing it, because I can't find any that I like on youtube. :( Sunday or monday I'll put it up. Maybe??

Feeling (Physically):

Oh so tired. The traveling, weddings, early morning work, late nights.. this week has worn me out!!! Also, its one thing to be tired, but a sore body on top of that is no fun.. 

Feeling (Mentally/Emotionally):

I am extremely content with where I am in life right now. I've realized that I am living the good life right now, and I'm thankful for all the blessings I've been granted. For a loving husband, and family, and a nice home, and really good jobs. :) Just grateful in every aspect of my life.

I love how a song can take you back to a certain year, friends, places, or even weather. These songs make me think of:

Pleasanton summers.

The dairy.
All the Harley Davidson's bikers that used to hang out by Cold Stone and Tully's. haha why there, and not the local bar?? I don't know?? :P
the many parks we had in town.

Ruby hill golf course.
our "secret" tree atop a golden hill. Looking over Pleasanton.

1st Wednesday of the month Street fair.
Farmers market. I miss the honey man! But not the clown.. he was scary.
Converse. They were HUGEE! haha.
Boardshorts. Because they were the ONLY knee-length shorts you could find? Ohh being a mormon in 2005.. wasn't easy.. haha

The Dashboard song makes me think of a very specific day!! Crazy how music is related to our memory?!?

It was the last day of our freshman year, and we went to Noah's bagels, then to the park next to Safeway, and sat under a tree. It was perfect weather. Sun was out, but the bay breeze kept it from being too hot. I was wearing a blue shirt from Abercrombie & Fitch. Remember when they were THE store to shop at? haha! I had a purple Hollister tote as a backpack and I thought I was all that.

I'm glad I grew up where I did. I hope Jordan and I will find a town where our children can have the same experiences that I did. :)

Five Senses Friday

Smelling:

Eucalyptus Mint Candle. So calming. mmmm :]

Tasting:

Yummy Mexican food to celebrate Cinco De Mayo!! Having worked at a Mexican restaurant for two years, you'd think I'd be sick of the stuff.. but I'm definitely not.. 

I don't understand the "Cafe Rio" hype here in Utah. Its not THAT amazing.. haha you want good Mexican cuisine? Go to the street markets in L.A. THATS pretty good food.

Seeing:

Jordan's dreading it..of course.. but we're going to see it tomorrow.  I really like this movie, but I'm really excited for the 3-D effect. Especially in the actual sinking of the Titanic. I'm sure it's epic!

Hearing:

I am STILL so obsessed with this band. I've been a fan of Paramore since 2004!

Feeling (Physically):

Well-rested is an understatement hah. I had a migraine yesterday (4:30pm to be exact), and took an Excedrin PM, knowing that if I took a regular Excedrin, the caffeine would keep me up forever! Well I was conked out by 6:00pm. I slept a total of 12 hours!!! It was maybe a little too much sleep. I won't be doing that again.. haha

Feeling (Mentally/Emotionally):

This elderly lady is so cute!! I hope I'm as cute as her when I'm a grandmother.

Just happy. :] Life is really nice right now, and I plan on savoring every happy moment right now.

Music Monday: Norah Jones + Weekend Update.

Norah Jones is one of my "go to's" when I don't know what to listen to. I am really loving this new album of hers. Its like the female version of Black Keys..

When I first started dating Jordan, all his extended family said I looked like her. I don't really see the resemblance, but its definitely a compliment! :] I think its because his whole family has fair skin, and light hair, and are blue-eyed. So seeing me must mean I'm Norah Jones. haha

If Jordan had a celebrity look-a-like it would be Paul Bettany. You might recognize him as the naked poet in "A Knight's Tale" or the albino bad guy in "the Da Vinci Code".

Our weekend was low-key but nice. :]

On Friday we went to a wedding. Jordan's childhood friend Kaitlyn is incredibly sweet, and we're so happy for her!! :] 

On Saturday, Jordan and I slept in and it was blissful. :] Later that afternoon we went to Jordan's family reunion at the "farm" (Some property his family owns by the "G" mountain). We had a bonfire, cooked hotdogs, went rock climbing, and listened to Jordan's uncles talk about the "good ol' days" where hard work was their life. I really like hearing old stories, and their reflections on memories. Me and Jordan want to record all their stories on video. Kind-of like a family journal. When we'll have the camera for it?? I don't know.. Jordan's Birthday is coming up.. that may be a perfect opportunity to finally get one!

Jordan never reads my blog unless I make him. So he'll never know my birthday plans for him.. haha!
